Successful route drivers for the Carthage system should demonstrate good driving and planning skills as well as excellent written and communication skills. Route drivers collect and deliver products to clients throughout the Midwest. Route drivers also interact with numerous clients throughout the day along with the logistics team. Duties may vary upon performing a local route or a more external route but all require loading and unloading cargo and verifying delivery with client. Route drivers are also responsible in performing routine vehicle maintenance as well as maintain their courier van in a clean bio secure manner. Examples of this would be, checking tire pressure, fluids, and fuel and to report any issues immediately. Route drivers are to follow all biosecurity regulations set forth by the Carthage system. Route drivers should be physically fit to have the ability to efficiently and carefully handle product in and out of the courier van.
