About The Position

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a SEM Lab Technician. This position will be located at our Euclid, OH facility. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting materials testing in support of Eaton-Euclid manufacturing and Eaton Aerospace Labs' external sales. You will prepare, analyze and document metallurgical and SEM Operation. This position will also be responsible for maintaining test equipment, modifying/writing lab procedures and supporting manufacturing special processes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a laboratory, manufacturing or testing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare metallographic specimens (sectioning, mounting and polishing).
  • Evaluate specimens per test procedures (ie. case depth, IGA, grain size, weld evaluation, etc).
  • Perform hardness testing (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop).
  • Assist with SEM analysis.
  • Assist with mechanical testing, as needed.
  • Document test results and prepare test reports.
  • Help maintain lab equipment and environment.
  • Communicate (both orally and written) with supervision and sales in a precise, logical, informative and tactful manner.
  • Assist with manufacturing process troubleshooting and process control.
  • Review industry specifications related to lab testing.
