About The Position

This role supports semiconductor applications by using Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) to image challenging structures. The position offers an opportunity to build and advance a career in SEM work in a semiconductor-focused environment. The technician images wafer-level samples and supports sample imaging techniques including Cross-Section SEM (XSEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS/EDX), and sample cleaving. The role also involves optimizing SEM images, contributing to imaging methods for new applications, and performing alignments and basic fault correction on metrology equipment. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with a large internal customer base and work a shift-based schedule as required.

Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 2–4 years of related experience.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Technical Certificate in a related technical field.
Experience in metrology or related technical areas.

Responsibilities

Support a variety of semiconductor applications using Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) to image challenging structures.
Image wafer-level samples, including acquiring profile, sidewall, and top-down images using SEM.
Perform Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) analysis.
Optimize SEM images for a variety of materials.
Contribute to the development of Best Known Methods (BKM) for SEM imaging of new applications.
Perform SEM alignments and correct basic fault conditions on metrology equipment.
Communicate effectively with a large internal customer base.
Work a shift-based schedule as required.
