About the role The Strategic Energy Management (SEM) Coach guides energy teams in identifying, evaluating, and implementing energy efficiency activities in commercial and industrial facilities. In this role, you will support multiple utility clients across northern Illinois. Your main goal is to help program participants apply the principles of continuous improvement to energy management. You will do this through group workshops and individual coaching, using a mix of educating, teaching, and explaining.
Requirements
- Travel to program participant sites (e.g., facilities, school districts) on a periodic, as-needed basis
- Periodic attendance at the Oak Brook office for larger team meetings, workshops, and event planning
- Meet all DOT qualification requirements and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations (if applicable)
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without the need for employer sponsorship or support.
- Successful hires must pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities
- Motivate and coach plant and facility management and teams
- Guide the development of overall continuous improvement plans
- Facilitate training workshops, onsite energy audits, and other one-on-one events
- Analyze the performance of industrial processes using monitoring equipment and statistical analysis
- Write reports for technical and non-technical audiences
- Conduct site walk-throughs to identify energy savings opportunities
- Develop site improvement plans
- Escalate program and client issues to the SEM Program Manager
