About The Position

The Self Pay Collector works with patients/family members to secure payment of all self-pay balances including deductibles and/or copayment amounts, and maintains Upfront Cash detail report.

Requirements

Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) year related experience in health care self-pay collections required.
Have the ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner.
Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Effective oral and written communication and guest relations skills required.
Must have good organizational, computer technical skills and the ability to set priorities.

Responsibilities

Assist with Obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
Makes necessary phone calls and generates letters to patients and/or family members for any self-pay balances.
Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable and assists in reviewing/selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies.
Secures patient valuables in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures.
Maintains production and accuracy necessary to meet established monthly collection goals
