About The Position

The Self-Help Coordinator furnishes all occupants of bachelor housing units and other authorized individuals with instructions, government furnished supplies and materials, and the loan of government furnished tools to accomplish the self-help work.

Requirements

Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be well organized and must be confident in front of small groups of people.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years’ experience in a building maintenance and/or supply function.
Two years’ experience in providing instruction.
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers and staff members.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional classes on the use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Maintain a roster of attendees; provide copies to DPW and Contracting as required.
Provide each attendee with a completed self-help card indicating training completed.
Issue self-help materials and tools only to individuals who possess a valid self-help card issued at the self-help training classes.
Document the issue of those tools and equipment on a temporary hand-receipt.
Document issues of materials and supplies to authorized individuals.
Accept return of materials that were issued and not used, deducting the original cost of the materials from the initial issue form or the current issue form, whichever is appropriate.
Maintain a record of all government purchased supplies issued to military units or bachelor housing occupants.
Recommend revisions to self-help supply lists and the training program.
Coordinate with other activities within the engineer functions to obtain new technical data, supply part numbers and recommended repair or replacement procedures.
Employees are required to driver a company vehicle on a Federal Installation.
