About The Position

A Special Education Self-contained Teacher will perform various duties related to student education and support, including maintaining records, developing and delivering lessons, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring compliance with educational policies and IEP requirements.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area
• Valid (State) Teaching License for (K-6) or (K-12)

Responsibilities

• Maintain student Service Logs
• Create and modify student lessons
• Keep daily Service Logs
• Conduct small group lessons
• Provide individual student services
• Mainstream students into General Education classrooms
• Collaborate with classroom teachers
• Provide services to students as outlined in IEP
• Write Effective IEPs
• Meet all deadlines
• Monitor progress
• Maintain updated Service Schedule
• Maintain updated caseload lists
• Provide Accommodations/Modifications
• Parental contacts w/documentation
• Facilitate academic testing
• Facilitate statewide testing
• Communicate suspensions
• Attend all required staff meetings
• File state documents in Special Education file and office
• Other functions assigned by supervisor
• Follow all school policies
