Segment Producer, Fast Money - CNBC
About The Position
CNBC is seeking a Segment Producer for Fast Money to help cover the most significant financial news stories of the day. The role develops and produces live and taped guest segments, generates original content ideas, identifies and books guests, conducts pre-interviews, writes copy and teases, and secures supporting elements such as sound bites and video. The producer helps create and visualize segments, contributes new ideas for segments and franchises, maintains relationships with news sources, and assists Line Producers in producing the show. The position is based at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, and requires flexibility to accommodate a demanding production schedule, including weekends and some holidays when required.
Requirements
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a live television environment.
- Demonstrated writing, research, and communication skills.
- Exemplary editorial judgment.
- Experience producing social media.
- Ability to work effectively and creatively under daily deadline pressure.
- Superior contacts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story.
- Willingness to accommodate a demanding production schedule and work weekends and some holidays when required.
- Unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce live and taped guest segments.
- Generate original content ideas daily using a broad array of sources.
- Identify and book compelling guests.
- Conduct guest pre-interviews and arrange hits.
- Write compelling copy and teases.
- Secure supporting elements such as sound bites and video.
- Help create, visualize, and produce segments for the show.
- Bring new and creative ideas to the show for segments and franchises.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with news sources.
- Assist Line Producers in producing the show.
