About The Position

Heritage Cooperative is seeking friendly, outgoing, customer-service driven employees for the role of Seed Warehouse Associate. We are looking for individuals who see themselves as future Seed Warehouse Associates and are eager to contribute to our team. This role involves a variety of tasks within a physically demanding agricultural environment, requiring adherence to safety procedures and effective teamwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts, loaders, conveyors, seed handling equipment, and other warehouse machinery.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
  • Ability to accurately complete required records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ability to safely handle and move seed products and other materials.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, drivers, vendors, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to maintain a professional, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions and a physically demanding agricultural environment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with company safety and environmental requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an agricultural, agronomy, seed, grain, warehouse, manufacturing, or material-handling environment.
  • Experience operating forklifts, loaders, conveyors, augers, seed treaters, or other industrial/agricultural equipment.
  • Experience with seed receiving, treating, handling, storage, or distribution.
  • Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance practices.
  • Experience with inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering or maintaining records electronically.
  • Previous experience working in a customer service or agricultural retail environment.
  • Class A OR B CDL with Tanker endorsement (N).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive representation of Heritage Cooperative’s Core Values, including providing superior customer service, upholding integrity and trust, continuous improvement, and being a good partner.
  • Abide by all safety regulations to ensure the safety of oneself, coworkers, and customers.
  • Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Receive, unload, move, sort, and properly store seed products within the warehouse.
  • Operate seed receiving systems, conveyors, augers, and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate seed treating equipment and bulk seed facility systems according to established procedures.
  • Accurately fulfill customer seed orders in a timely manner, ensuring the correct products and quantities are prepared for delivery or pickup.
  • Sort and organize seed in the warehouse to maintain accurate inventory and efficient product movement.
  • Load and unload trucks and other vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver seed to Heritage Cooperative branch locations and other designated locations as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory and product records.
  • Complete required records, reports, tickets, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance of warehouse, seed handling, and plant equipment.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on plant equipment to maximize operating efficiency and extend the useful life of fixed assets.
  • Identify and report equipment problems, safety concerns, or facility maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain equipment, work areas, and facilities in a neat, clean, safe, and environmentally responsible condition.
  • Follow proper procedures for seed handling, storage, treatment, and transportation.
  • Exhibit a professional, energetic, courteous, and helpful attitude in all interactions with customers, coworkers, vendors, and branch personnel.
  • Operate forklifts, loaders, and other material-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
