About The Position

Parsons is hiring an Electronic Maintenance Technician for its Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) Next Sustainment contract. The role administers, records, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance, testing, and repair of intrusion detection systems (IDS), access control systems (ACS), closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, subsystems and field devices, power supplies, command-and-control interface devices, and badging systems. The position is part of Parsons’ Federal Solutions team, which provides services and solutions to U.S. government customers in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental missions.

Requirements

Associate degree and at least 2 years of related professional experience, or 5 years of related experience.
Experience with CCTV, intrusion detection systems (IDS), automated access control systems (ACS), and basic networking.
An active Secret security clearance is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
Knowledge of basic electricity and electronics.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the correct and safe use of hand and power tools, a soldering iron, and test equipment.
Ability to install and maintain CCTV, surveillance video cameras, and access control equipment.
Ability to learn and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of mobile radios and associated emergency vehicle equipment.
Working knowledge of, or ability to rapidly learn, relevant state and federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Ability to understand and follow governmental rules and regulations for electronic security system installation and maintenance.
Analytical, detail-oriented approach, including the ability to analyze problems, identify causes, and apply actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
Ability to identify issues and problems accurately and determine suitable courses of action.
Organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to prioritize in a changing, multi-demand environment without sacrificing accuracy or timeliness.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, diplomacy, and ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to work safely, avoid risky shortcuts, and comply with safety standards and best practices.
Proficiency with the software and computer systems used in the role and ability to learn new systems.
Ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information and comply with applicable information-access, maintenance, and dissemination laws, statutes, and policies.

Nice To Haves

Additional certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems are desired.

Responsibilities

Maintain performance and maintenance records using the government-provided inventory tracking and work order database.
Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.
Prepare reports of test results and assessments of key electronic systems.
Identify operational or maintenance defects in components and find suitable replacements.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic equipment, including controls, power supplies, gauges, and sensors.
Use tools and test equipment, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and Volt/Current/Ohm multimeters.
Pull and terminate low-voltage signal and network cables.
Install, fusion-splice, and terminate fiber-optic cable.
Read and understand as-built installation plans, electronic and construction schematics, and manufacturers’ literature for electrical and electronic components.
Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with company leave and attendance policies.
Be available for after-hours and weekend work.
Shift to other sites when there is a need to surge efforts.
