About The Position

Silco Fire & Security is a growing, family-owned company with over 500 employees and is a market leader in the Midwest. They design, install, maintain, and monitor fire protection and security systems. The Security Systems Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, programming, configuring, inspecting, and providing general customer service on security systems including video, access control, intrusion detection, gates, and other electronic security devices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in servicing, installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems, including video, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Experienced in using Salesforce preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure security systems including video cameras, access control panels, intrusion detection sensors, gates, and other electronic security devices, following manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Program and customize security systems to meet the specific needs and requirements of our customers, including setting up user permissions, alarm thresholds, and notification preferences.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on security systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability, including cleaning, testing, and replacing components as needed.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with security systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Assist customers with system upgrades, expansions, and enhancements, including adding new devices, integrating with third-party systems, and implementing advanced features and functionalities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to our growing list of customers, including responding to service calls, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs performed on security systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
