About The Position

Bring your knowledge of security systems and technology to help maintain the safety and security at UW Health locations. We are seeking a Security Systems Technician to manage the implementation, operation, and functionality of surveillance cameras. You will monitor devices for performance, scan for vulnerabilities, select appropriate devices, and coordinate the installation and replacement of devices. You will also collaborate with HR-Employee Relations for employment investigations, coordinate with Legal, Risk Management, and process video requests from law enforcement to assist with criminal investigations. Additionally, you will assist with obtaining and creating project proposals for the purchase of surveillance cameras for capital or operational investment and work closely with Information Services (IS) for support of device activation, connection, troubleshooting, and the operational needs and maintenance of the servers that support the surveillance camera recordings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in the installation and maintenance of video surveillance devices and video management systems.
• Must possess a current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle.
• Ability to be insured by UW Health’s risk management insurer, which requires (1) a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and (2) successfully passing a driving background check.

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree/post-high school training in an Information Technology.
• Three (3) years of experience in the installation and maintenance of video surveillance devices and video management systems.
