About The Position

Denver Arts and Venues (DAV) is seeking a Security Systems Operations Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and accuracy of all security technology systems at the Arts Complex. This role involves managing access control, credentialing workflows, CCTV evidence retrieval, and key management tools. The technician will perform daily technical tasks, system configurations, audits, and documentation to ensure reliable, compliant, and high-quality security data. Additionally, the role will identify system trends, conduct analysis, and support reporting to enhance overall security operations. The position works closely with the Security Program Administrator to execute system-level activities supporting events, investigations, and emergency response. This is a hands-on technical role focused on system integrity and operational administration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience administering security technology systems such as access control, credentialing platforms, CCTV systems, key management tools, visitor management applications, and incident/dispatch reporting systems, including evidence retrieval, system audits, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as access control, daily activity reporting and incident management programs, digital key/core tracking systems, metal detectors or similar physical security technologies.
  • Experience supporting operations in large public facilities, performing arts centers, or high-volume event environments.
  • Ability to work quickly with large volumes of data, prioritize competing tasks, and remain effective under frequent interruptions.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new systems rapidly, interpret analytics, and contribute to dashboard development.
  • Experience collaborating with integrators or technical partners to ensure systems remain aligned, interoperable, and functioning as intended.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay adaptable, focused, and solutions-oriented in fast-paced, high-pressure operational environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience administering business operations or operational programs and/or assisting professional/management staff with administrative or operational functions.
  • Must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance within the probationary period.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage user accounts, system configurations, and data integrity for security systems.
  • Coordinate with Technology Services and vendors for updates, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance of security technology platforms.
  • Create, modify, and terminate credentials; issue temporary event access; and conduct routine access audits.
  • Implement access control processes, maintain automated key cabinets, and track physical key issuance, returns, core changes, and inventory.
  • Locate, export, and preserve CCTV footage following chain-of-custody procedures; support evidence, incident, and CORA requests.
  • Prepare recurring reports and audit summaries; validate data for accuracy and compliance across all security systems.
  • Program, distribute, and troubleshoot radios and related systems; coordinate with the security operations center on alerts, access requests, alarm verification, and incident response.
  • Create and maintain system guides and checklists; provide daily assistance to staff and contractors regarding system use, access, and credentialing.
  • Retrieve evidence, compile system data, and support emergency response activities, drills, and situational system operations.
  • Collaborate with Technology Services and the AVD Electronics Technician to research, design, and recommend a sitewide audio and visual emergency notification system; assist with coordination, requirements gathering, and project execution.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned.
