Security Systems Engineer

Fluidstack
•$224,000 - $275,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is hiring a Security Systems Engineer to design, build, and operate the security control plane for its rapidly scaling AI compute infrastructure. The role will establish end-to-end architecture before the first campus depends on it, then deploy and operate the platform across sites. The control plane may run on premises where resilience and bandwidth require it, with a cloud management layer where appropriate. The engineer will own core security infrastructure and automation, including PKI, certificate lifecycle, identity integration, and automated deprovisioning. They will build integrations, APIs, and monitoring to identify site degradation proactively; replace hand-built or vendor-managed systems with versioned, reproducible, recoverable infrastructure; and own backups, disaster recovery, and a non-production environment for validating changes before production deployment. Fluidstack describes its operating culture as emphasizing autonomy, urgency, first-principles reasoning, intense commitment, and building infrastructure intended to support frontier AI. The company states that it is committed to pay equity and transparency and is an equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

  • Design the security control plane end to end and make architectural decisions that other platform components depend on.
  • Build and operate the control plane at every site, using on-premises deployment where resilience and bandwidth require it and a cloud management layer where appropriate.
  • Own PKI, certificate lifecycle, identity integration, and automated deprovisioning.
  • Build integrations, APIs, and monitoring to detect site degradation proactively.
  • Replace hand-built, appliance-per-site, vendor-managed systems with versioned, reproducible, and recoverable infrastructure.
