About The Position

The Security Supervisor supports the Manager of Security in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, visitors, and property across San Benito Health Care District facilities. This position provides day-to-day operational supervision of Security Officers, coordinates shift activities and assignments, responds to security and safety incidents, and helps ensure compliance with District policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Supervisor will escalate significant incidents, personnel concerns, and operational issues to the Manager of Security.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or comparable leadership capacity required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in security, healthcare security, law enforcement, military service, or a related field preferred.
  • Security, emergency management, workplace violence prevention, or related professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, direction, and support to Security Officers and coordinate daily assignments and security coverage.
  • Conduct shift briefings and communicate safety concerns, operational updates, and special assignments to Security staff.
  • Monitor staff performance and compliance with District policies, department procedures, post orders, and professional standards; provide coaching and escalate significant concerns to the Manager of Security.
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, training, drills, and ongoing development of Security staff.
  • Respond to security incidents, workplace violence concerns, disturbances, unauthorized access, and other safety issues; coordinate response with appropriate departments and outside agencies as needed.
  • Assist with security investigations, including gathering information, reviewing video footage and reports, and ensuring incidents are accurately documented and appropriately escalated.
  • Conduct routine patrols and security inspections to identify safety hazards, security vulnerabilities, and access-control concerns.
  • Monitor surveillance, access-control, alarm, weapons-detection, and other security systems and report operational or maintenance concerns.
  • Support workplace violence prevention initiatives, emergency preparedness activities, audits, and regulatory readiness.
  • Promote professional and service-oriented interactions with patients, visitors, employees, physicians, and community partners.
  • Provide recommendations to the Manager of Security regarding staffing, training, equipment, procedures, and operational improvements.
  • Perform Security Officer duties when necessary to maintain coverage and perform other duties as assigned.
