About The Position

The on-site Security Specialist is responsible for the safety and security of staff, patients, and property. The role also reviews and monitors security cameras and responds to impending or occurring incidents quickly and professionally. The position includes regular interaction with employees and patients to maintain a comfortable and safe environment, as well as retail operational support to leadership to help ensure compliance and audit readiness. Work is performed in a retail environment with usually moderate noise.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of previous security or protection experience.
Must be at least 21 years of age and comply with all local, state, and company regulations.
Must undergo a criminal background check and obtain appropriate state badging as directed by state ordinances.
Passion for security and safety.
Ability to use office equipment, including computers and printers, and software such as Word, Excel, and email.
Ability to learn and understand federal, state, and local laws relating to the cannabis industry and safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

High-level protection experience in a nightclub, bar, jewelry store, or event management.

Responsibilities

Regularly interact with employees and patients to maintain a comfortable and safe environment.
Check and verify patient IDs before admitting patients onto the dispensary floor.
Monitor cash pick-ups.
Provide exemplary customer service to patients and fellow employees.
Monitor security video cameras and security systems.
Carry out regular patrols around and inside the property.
Perform lockup and unlock duties where needed.
Operate under applicable state regulatory requirements.
Assist with product delivery as needed.
Provide operational retail support to leadership, including patient information audits, batch record data uploads, and other tasks needed to ensure regular compliance and prepare for location audits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Deescalate impending or occurring incidents quickly and professionally.
