About The Position

This position supports the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The selected candidate will play a key role in safeguarding classified information, personnel security actions, supporting facility accreditation, and maintaining secure operations of the facility. This role involves assisting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining the facility's security program in accordance with NISPOM, DoD instructions, and company policies, including conducting quarterly training, supporting personnel security clearance processing, conducting security briefings and debriefings, assisting with self-inspections and audits, maintaining classified document control, investigating security violations, and supporting the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures. The Security Specialist will also serve as the point of contact for security-related matters in the FSO's absence, assist with access control and intrusion detection systems, badging, physical security requirements for Open Storage and Restricted Areas, and maintaining internal security databases. Additionally, the role involves processing and tracking visit requests and assisting in the creation and management of DD254s.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship with active Secret security clearance (Ability to obtain SCI eligibility).
  • 3 or more years of directly related experience
  • 3 or more years of general work experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience as a security specialist in the military or as a contractor
  • Working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM Rule), classified information handling, and secure facility operations.
  • Proficiency with security management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using DISS, NISS, NBIS, or similar government security systems.
  • Experience with stand forms used by the government and industry facilities (SF-86, SF-312, SF700, SF702).
  • Familiar with creation and management of DD254s.
  • Provide after-hours or emergency support as needed.
  • Complete the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities training within first year of employment (will be required within one year of employment).

  • COMSEC Custodian experience.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in safeguarding classified information, personnel security actions, supporting facility accreditation, and maintaining secure operations of the facility.

  • Support personnel security clearance processing, tracking, and record keeping.

  • Assist with self-inspections, audits, and preparation for DCSA assessments.
  • Maintain classified document control and accountability.
  • Investigate and report security violations, suspicious contacts, and potential insider threat indicators.
  • Support the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the point of contact for security-related matters in the FSO's absence.
  • Assist with Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • Assist with badging and conduct badging system audits.
  • Assist with physical security requirements for Open Storage and Restricted Areas.
  • Assist the FSO with maintaining internal security database and ensure information is accurate and up to date.
  • Process and track incoming/outgoing visit requests.
  • Assist in creation and management of DD254s for prime and subcontractor relationships.
