About The Position

VTG is seeking a Security Specialist to support our customer in Pearl City, Hawaii. This role involves managing badge issuance, processing visit requests, maintaining the Visitor Control Room, handling official mail, securing restricted areas, processing classified materials, performing data entry, managing vehicle usage, and conducting physical inspections of designated buildings and areas.

Requirements

  • Current Final Secret clearance
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Two (2) - Five (5) years of recent and relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the issuance of permanent badges to NIWC personnel and tenants and temporary visitor badges to all official visitors.
  • Process incoming visit requests received from Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and facsimile.
  • Conduct semiannual badge inventory of all permanent and visitor badges for 100 percent accountability.
  • Issue badges following the objectives, policies, procedures and security requirements as stated in SSCPACINST 5500.1 Series.
  • Maintain the Visitor Control Room: clear and file PII documents, correspondence, and visitor requests daily; account for and return all badges to their proper location daily; clear badge machine system, desks, counters, and floors of rubbish daily; dust/wipe counters, badge machine system, and furniture weekly.
  • Complete all required Mail Orderly training and be designated as a Mail Orderly.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing official mail delivered by USPS on normal work days.
  • Sort and place mail in the designated locked mailbox.
  • Opening and securing the restricted area, per NIWC PAC SOP for Secure Room.
  • Processing courier card request within one workday.
  • Processing/preparing incoming and outgoing classified materials immediately upon receipt or as soon as possible, per DODI 5200.01 V1 – V4; SECNAV M-5510.36 Series and SSCPACINST 5500.1 Series.
  • Preparing appropriate documents for signature by Government employees prior to release of classified materials.
  • Preparing classified materials according to manuals and instructions prior to release.
  • Assisting in completing data calls for Security Specialist’s review.
  • Assist the Security Specialist with destruction of classified materials.
  • Perform data entry into various data systems and management information systems to update and maintain status.
  • Retrieve status reports from databases.
  • Perform editing, proofing, general organizing and collating technical documents.
  • Reproduce copies of original documents.
  • Manage the scheduling of usage, monitor fuel level and maintenance of the Officer in Charge (OIC) official vehicle.
  • Conduct one daily after-hours physical and visual inspections of designated buildings/rooms/areas per government provided SOP.
  • Report any unsecured buildings/rooms/areas immediately to the Government.
  • Immediately report fire, flooding, or other conditions that could result in damage to buildings/equipment or injuries to personnel.
  • Security checks shall specifically include classified material storage areas, safes, and other areas as identified in the government provided SOP.
  • Locations are anticipated to include NIWC facilities at Pearl City, HI, JBPHH, MCBH, Yokosuka, Japan and Naval Base Guam.
