About The Position

Market of Choice is hiring a full-time Security Specialist to join its Loss Prevention Team. The role focuses on employee and customer safety and involves general security functions, customer service, observation, and reporting. The position starts at $21.00 per hour and pays up to $27.00 per hour depending on experience. Applicants must be available to work weekends, after hours, and occasionally out of town and overnight.

Requirements

Valid Oregon driver's license and reliable transportation.
Professional, courteous, and calm attitude.
Excellent observation and planning skills.
Ability to think clearly under pressure.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of local and state laws.
Must be 18 years or older.
Availability to work weekends, after hours, and occasional out-of-town and overnight work.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency using MS Office.
Previous experience in security.

Responsibilities

Act as a visual deterrent for criminal activity in the store.
Partner with Store Management to determine the safest approach to criminal activity or business disruptions.
De-escalate tense confrontations using customer service.
Observe and report unsafe activities and conditions.
Help create a pleasant in-store atmosphere for customers.
Implement store policies and maintain secure records.
Perform tasks as directed by the Loss Prevention department.
