About The Position

We are hiring a Security Specialist to provide technical security support to a DoD Project Office. This position will be onsite in Huntsville, AL. The role involves interpreting, implementing, and administering security policy, monitoring personnel access quotas, program access requests, and conducting program indoctrinations and debriefings. The specialist will assist in the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary security functions including INFOSEC, PERSEC, Physical Security, and OPSEC for a DoD Project Office. Additionally, they will support an effective Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program, conduct various security briefings, assist with Classified Meeting preparation and support, review and maintain Security Classification Guides (SCGs), and assign/update building badges. The position requires ensuring compliance with government and customer security requirements, escorting non-cleared personnel, identifying deficiencies, implementing best practices, interpreting security doctrine, preparing and shipping classified packages, and maintaining compliance with government and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA, or in lieu of degree, 12 years of applicable experience with H.S. diploma
  • Experience with Government security regulations, including NISPOM
  • Experience with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) processes
  • Experience with security databases such as DISS, NBIS, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with 32 CFR 117, National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), Contract Security Classification Specification (DD Form 254), and Program Classification Guides

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, implement, and administer security policy

  • Assist in the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary security functions (INFOSEC, PERSEC, Physical Security, OPSEC)

  • Conduct initial security briefings, debriefings, pre-/post-foreign travel briefings, refresher briefings, and other briefings as needed
  • Assist with Classified Meeting preparation and support, including SVTC setup
  • Review, interpret, and maintain Security Classification Guides (SCGs)
  • Assign and update building badges
  • Ensure security policies and procedures are compliant with government and customer requirements
  • Escort non-cleared personnel
  • Identify deficiencies and implement best practices
  • Interpret security doctrine and provide clear guidance to employees
  • Prepare and ship classified packages in accordance with DoD guidelines
