About The Position

Koniag Technology Solutions, Inc, a Koniag Government Service Company, is looking for a highly qualified, experienced, and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a Security Specialist with intimate knowledge of visitor procedures. The Security Specialist will support KTS and our government customer in Quantico, VA the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory Division and oversee the execution of coverage at a critical 24/7/365 location. This position is the “flex” shift that generally works Saturday through Wednesday to cover the weekends but provides flex coverage to other shifts when there are scheduling issues. This position requires a Top-Secret clearance and SCI eligibility and the willingness and ability to pass a CI Polygraph. Please do not apply if you do not possess that level clearance. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. Shift Structure: Monday through Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m; 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m; 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00p.m, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. This position is covered under the Service Contract Act. Security Specialists shall perform security operations and support services necessary to achieve all required performance outcomes and must be flexible and willing to alternate his or her schedule in order to staff the posts during the designated working hours. The Contractors may be required to shift their schedule or report to an alternate location without significant advance notice.

Requirements

  • Must possess final Top-Secret personnel security clearances and must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) special access.
  • Minimum education required is a bachelor’s degree in any field and three (3) years security experience in relevant fields, such as industrial security, physical security and computer/network security – OR – a minimum of five (5) years of experience in any security related field.
  • Must be skilled in creating complex spreadsheets (i.e. Excel, etc.), in preparing briefings (i.e. PowerPoint, etc.), Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly; must be able to provide security briefings and debriefings; must be able to provide comprehensive written communications.
  • Must perform all duties in an extremely professional, customer-service oriented manner.
  • Willingness and ability to pass a CI Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Managing contractor personnel and work assignments
  • Ensuring all performance requirements and service levels are met
  • Overseeing staffing, scheduling, and operational coverage
  • Implementing quality control processes
  • Coordinating with Government stakeholders
  • Identifying and resolving performance issues
  • Executing security operations across all required functions
  • Maintaining continuous situational awareness
  • Supporting access control, personnel security, and physical security operations
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Supporting incident response and emergency procedures
  • Performing duties across multiple security disciplines as required
  • Processing incoming Visitor Access Requests (VAR) and for entering the information into the appropriate database.
  • Coordinating VAR information with the appropriate FBI Security Division personnel.
  • Prepare electronic communications (ECs) in Sentinel as required.
  • Responsible for outgoing clearance transfer procedures, obtain proxy access, and assist as necessary.
  • Process FBI Limited Access Request (LAR) paperwork, including coordinating approvals/denials with the FBI Security Division, notifying the point-of-contact, entering details into the database, and preparing associated EC.
  • Issue badges and IDs in accordance with policy and utilize the badge system as directed.
  • Responsible for monitoring CCTV video
  • Conducting perimeter checks
  • Coordinating with Quantico Security Operations Center (QSOC) for emergency response and alarm activity
  • Responsible for the screening of visitors and their belongings with an X-ray machine and a metal detector.
  • Visual checks shall be conducted if the X-ray machine and/or metal detector is not available.
  • Complete all trainings required/provided by the customer to insure proper handling of this equipment.
  • Assist with escort duties as needed.
