About The Position

The Security Specialist is responsible for protecting persons and property. This role involves conducting investigations of criminal offenses that occur on facility property and enforcing facility rules and regulations. The Security Specialist will also be responsible for conducting non-law enforcement information reports on hospital property and maintaining visibility to establish a security presence within medical centers and other assigned areas/facilities. The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a complex environment and have a passion for public relations.

Requirements

• High School completion / GED
• OPOTA- Required Basic Security Guard Training or comparable firearm certification.
• State required 20 hours of firearms Training
• Valid Ohio Driver's License
• Annual OPOTA Certified Firearms Qualification
• TASER Certification
• Active Shooter Response Training
• AVADE Training
• CPR/AED Certification
• Ability to work under pressure with many interruptions while remaining calm and pleasant to the public and facility personnel
• Good written and oral communications and organizational skills.
• Some typing and computer experience required.
• Effective telephone skills.
• Never charged or convicted with a disqualifying offense per Ohio Administrative Code 3701-13-05

• 1-3 prior job-related work experience
• Computer skills desirable
