About The Position

The SPEAR team within Apple’s Security Engineering & Architecture organization is seeking a collaborative system software engineering manager to improve the security of end-user devices. SPEAR engineers make impactful security improvements across Apple’s operating systems by designing and implementing hardening measures that eliminate classes of vulnerabilities. Their work includes accelerating the use of memory-safe languages and deeply refactoring key system components to build security into their core, while preserving the stability and performance Apple users rely on. The manager will lead projects with teams across the lower levels of Apple’s software stack, delivering robust and maintainable system software features that improve end-user security. They will lead a team adopting AI in the software development process, hire and develop engineers, and help set standards for cross-functional collaboration and engineering excellence. The broader mission is to advance software security and help protect users against malicious and well-resourced adversaries.
