About The Position

Plans, examines, analyzes, evaluates and manages the Texas Health System Security and Police operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security personnel. Examines and monitors security department staffing within assigned area to provide optimal levels. Provides for the supervision of security personnel. Initiates personnel actions such as recruitment, selections, transfers, promotions and discipline or dismissal measures. Serves in a primary or support leader for emergency management within the assigned area of responsibility. Fills out incident/offense report forms and composes narratives. Conducts, supervises, and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of losses or violations of Texas Health physical security policies and procedures or state of Texas laws.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s degree Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field required OR 2 years of supervisory experience in lieu of associate’s degree
  • 2 years security or law enforcement required
  • Driver’s License Class C and Insurable is required upon hire
  • CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas Private Security Level 2 (Not required if have Lvl 3), 14 days of hire required
  • CSO - Commissioned Security Officer Texas level 3 within 60 days of hire required
  • TASER Certification within 60 days of hire required (Two attempts permitted within sixty days) and Annual recertification is required
  • ACPI - Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 30 Days Required
  • Must successfully complete a psychological evaluation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security or closely related field preferred
  • 2 years healthcare or education preferred
