About The Position

The Shift Supervisor serves as the primary on-duty leader during their assigned shift, providing guidance, direction, and support to security officers while ensuring all operational requirements, security procedures, and customer expectations are met. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can effectively manage personnel, respond to operational challenges, and maintain professionalism in a dynamic security environment.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years of age.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Prior military service at the rank of E-6 or above in a combat arms, military police, security forces, or related specialty; or prior law enforcement experience at the rank of Sergeant or equivalent.
  • An additional year of security supervisory experience may be substituted for the rank requirement.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience supervising 15 or more personnel.
  • Experience leading security, law enforcement, military police, force protection, or related operations.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to obtain a Japanese driver's license.
  • Ability to meet all medical, physical fitness, training, and reliability requirements associated with the position.
  • Successful completion of all required background investigations, drug screening, and qualification standards.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government security programs.
  • Experience working in an overseas environment or within Japan.
  • Military Police, Security Forces, Master-at-Arms, Infantry leadership, or law enforcement supervisory experience.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and operational requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong report-writing and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with military personnel, government representatives, fellow contractors, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of armed security officers during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure personnel are properly equipped, qualified, and prepared to perform assigned duties.
  • Provide daily guidance, coaching, and oversight to promote operational effectiveness and professional conduct.
  • Conduct shift briefings to communicate operational updates, security concerns, and special instructions.
  • Monitor officer performance and address performance, conduct, or operational issues as they arise.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for on-duty security personnel and escalate issues to site leadership as necessary.
  • Oversee daily security operations to ensure compliance with site procedures, post orders, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate security activities to ensure quality service and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct post inspections and operational checks to verify compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinate response efforts during emergencies, incidents, and unusual situations.
  • Monitor security systems and surveillance equipment and ensure proper reporting of alarms, malfunctions, or security concerns.
  • Ensure accurate accountability and control of weapons, ammunition, keys, and other sensitive items.
