The Security Shift Supervisor functions as a supervisor of Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s). This role ensures that all post orders are followed, established rounds are completed, and required reports are filed. The supervisor also notifies proper authorities and the client in emergency situations. They are responsible for coaching and disciplining personnel as appropriate, seeking advice from company management when needed, and documenting all coaching and disciplinary actions. Additionally, the supervisor trains Security Officers and other company personnel, reviews post orders, and assists in submitting payroll and personnel information. They ensure adequate coverage of all posts and positions, prepare and submit various reports, inspect posts, and meet with subordinates to outline tasks. The role involves meeting with client representatives to ensure security requirements are met and to provide quality customer service. Supervisory duties may include interviewing, orienting, training, planning, assigning, directing work, coaching, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and making hiring and termination recommendations. The supervisor may also perform the duties of a Security Officer.
