The Security Shift Supervisor will manage the operation of the Texas Health System Security and Police force within their assigned area. This role involves planning, analyzing, evaluating, and managing security operations, including physical security assets and personnel. The supervisor will identify and analyze security position designs, work processes, and workflows, and monitor staffing levels to ensure optimal coverage. They will develop preventative security programs, supervise security personnel, and initiate personnel actions such as recruitment, selection, and discipline. The position also serves as a liaison with public law enforcement and fire departments, participates in the Texas Health Threat Assessment Team, and monitors key performance indicators. The supervisor will be a member of the Texas Health Incident Management team as needed and may serve as a leader for emergency management within their area. They will monitor and report performance on physical security metrics, conduct audits of security performance and equipment, and prepare reports for internal investigations and state licensure. Additionally, the role involves assisting with training programs for security staff and other Texas Health employees, promoting professional growth, and assisting with budget development and management.
