About The Position

The Security Shift Manager is responsible for directing and delegating responsibilities to Security Shift Supervisors, Senior Security Officers, and Security Officers. This role involves conducting interviews, evaluating security staff, and overseeing staff development, motivation, and training. The manager also recommends, documents, and issues discipline. Key duties include reviewing and submitting shift paperwork, communicating policy and procedure changes, and ensuring efficient scheduling of security personnel. The position requires developing and implementing systems that comply with Company and Departmental Procedures, Internal Controls, VLEU, and Delaware State Racing Commission Regulations. Additionally, the role involves fostering positive interactions with VLEU, Local Law Enforcement Agencies, and the Delaware State Racing Commission, while promoting outstanding interdepartmental and customer relations, as well as honesty and trust amongst the team. All other duties as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of security supervisory experience (gaming industry preferred).
  • Must be able to complete and maintain the background check and licensing process required by the Delaware Lottery.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Gaming industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and delegating responsibilities to Security Shift Supervisors, Senior Security Officers, and Security Officers.

  • Maintaining positive interactions with VLEU, Local Law Enforcement Agencies and Delaware State Racing Commission.
  • Promoting outstanding interdepartmental and customer relations.
  • Promoting honesty and trust amongst the team.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
