About The Position

Northeast Security, Inc., founded in 1967, is a leading security services firm in New England. We are seeking a Security Shift Manager for a premiere account in Boston, MA. This role requires availability to be on call 24/7, with work schedules potentially including evenings, night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Successful candidates must pass background screening, drug testing, and complete orientation. Positions may be rescinded if background requirements are not met. Requirements

  • Must have three years of Security Manager experience.
  • Valid Driver's License of 3 years or more with a clean Driving Record.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Dependable means of transportation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English (both written and verbal).
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
  • Candidates must also be able to successfully pass ALL pre-employment background, and drug screenings.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be available to cover various posts during the assigned shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service Experience preferred.
  • Previous security supervisor experience, or related field/education.

Responsibilities

  • Support supervisors in their daily duties.
  • Provide direct coaching and guidance to supervisory teams.
  • Support regional supervisors as needed, particularly during significant events.
  • Review daily shift staffing with supervisors to ensure full post coverage.
  • Address and resolve immediate staffing gaps dynamically.
  • Make real-time deployment decisions when staffing levels require adjustments.
  • Confirm all scheduled details and special assignments are properly covered.
  • Interface with security management and Northeast Security operations for extra resources.
  • Maintain continuous situational awareness of all active emergency situations.
  • Monitor all emergency notifications issued by the Command center.
  • Review alerts for complete accuracy, completeness, and proper distribution.
  • Offer guidance to command center leads and operators on message drafting or corrections.
  • Issue prompt, client-facing notifications according to protocols or Property Manager consultation.
  • Serve as the primary reviewer for all Level 2 and Level 3 incident reports.
  • Ensure complete accuracy and thoroughness in all submitted reports.
  • Confirm necessary supplemental documentation (such as Risk Reports) is filed.
  • Coordinate the proper retention of still images and video footage.
  • Coordinate the immediate response to on-site security technology failures.
  • Evaluate technical issues (unsecured doors, outages) to determine scope and client impact.
  • Mitigate immediate vulnerabilities, such as posting staff at unsecured doors.
  • Ensure proper notification and escalation to support groups.
  • Assist in evaluating the need for off-hours vendor or on-call responses.
  • Partner with security management and regional project managers on program needs.
  • Coordinate alarm abatement programs within assigned coverage areas.
  • Assign and review routine physical inspections (intercoms, elevator phones, AEDs).
  • Compile and distribute program statistics (QoL, Activity) and BOLO alerts.
