About The Position

The Third Shift Security Rover is responsible for patrolling the museum's galleries and facilities, monitoring for irregularities or unauthorized activities. This role involves responding to alarms, investigating disturbances, performing safety inspections, and conducting lockdowns to ensure security measures are maintained. The position requires the ability to document incidents, implement emergency responses, and react appropriately in high-stress situations.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend directions, instructions, and memorandums.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
  • Ability to adapt to prolonged standing, walking, and stairclimbing.
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License. All Newfields employees must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license to drive any of the Newfields vehicles.
  • Ability to complete the required Security training for the position.
  • Proficiency in use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook/Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patrols of the museum's galleries and facilities, monitoring for any irregularities or unauthorized activities.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances promptly.
  • Monitor premises to prevent and address harmful activities, ensuring the execution of security and safety responsibilities.
  • Perform comprehensive safety inspections throughout the campus.
  • Conduct lockdowns (detailed checks of buildings) to ensure optimal security measures are maintained.
  • Document both injury-related and non-injury incidents.
  • Implement appropriate emergency responses to fire, safety, and access procedures (door alarms, Fike panels, condensation).
  • React appropriately in emergency and high stress situations.
