About The Position

The Security Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing the performance and installation of the security camera fleet, access control system, and intrusion alarm apparatus. This role involves reviewing and evaluating vendor relationships according to the credit union's Vendor Management Policy, ensuring all aspects of the vendor management lifecycle are completed. The specialist will maintain accurate due diligence documentation, vendor risk scoring models, and contract records in vendor management software. Additionally, they will create, issue, and revoke access credentials, ensure timely notification of contract renewals and terminations, and regularly test physical security devices at branch locations. This position also includes conducting annual physical security assessments, administering emergency management training, and serving as the primary contact for physical security-related events. The role requires retrieving and preserving video evidence for various legal and investigative purposes, assisting with policy and procedure development, and developing a dashboard for reporting on key performance indicators related to physical security and vendor management. Compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Experience using, deploying and triaging issues related to physical security systems.
  • A college degree. B.S or B.A. in Criminal Justice or Business preferred.
  • The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust.
  • Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements.

  • A keen ability to react calmly in stressful situations.
  • Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.

  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing performance and installation of security camera fleet, access control system and intrusion alarm apparatus.
  • Reviewing and evaluating all new and existing vendor relationships in accordance with the credit union’s Vendor Management Policy by ensuring onboarding, ongoing and offboarding elements of the vendor management life cycle are completed.
  • Maintaining accurate due diligence documentation, vendor risk scoring models and contract records in vendor management software.
  • Creating, issuing and revoking access credentials for team members and visitors of the organization.
  • Ensuring timely notification of contract renewal and/or termination deadlines are conveyed to relationship owners in a timely fashion.
  • Regularly testing physical security devices at branch locations, conducting annual physical security assessments and administering emergency management training for branch staff.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for physical security related events including but not limited to property damage, robbery response, uncleared visitors and disorderly individuals.
  • Retrieving, preserving and disseminating video evidence in support of bond claims, civil litigation defense, fraud investigation or subpoena compliance.
  • Assisting the VP of Compliance and Fraud Risk with crafting and proposing security and vendor management policies or procedures.
  • Developing a dashboard for and regularly reporting on key performance indicators related to physical security and vendor management.
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
