About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to safeguard clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, gaining experience at different sites. The position may involve irregular shifts with little or no advance notice and requires flexibility to accommodate last-minute schedule changes, varying shifts, and travel to assigned work locations. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required where driving duties apply.

The officer conducts security patrols on foot or in a vehicle, monitors for unusual conditions and safety hazards, controls access to property, and responds to emergencies. They assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally, enforce site rules, observe departing personnel, and document incidents and activities in reports and logs.

The position pays $20.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance; company retirement plans; seven holidays paid at time and a half if worked; and 40 hours of vacation after one year at eligible assignments, subject to the stated payout conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle; the posting also specifies a valid license in accordance with applicable driver policy requirements.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years if armed.
• No prior experience is required.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
