The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is seeking a Security Patrol Officer for an exterior assignment, specifically for a temporary Green Roof Project. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to obtain a Kansas City, Missouri Private Officer Licensing Unit Class A Patrol Officer Security License, if required
Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
Ability to consistently follow and enforce security procedures
Professional verbal communication skills
Sound judgment and the ability to escalate concerns appropriately
Ability to work independently within a structured environment
Professional appearance and commitment to excellent customer service

Responsibilities

Escort contractors and vendors to designated work areas, verify credentials, manage sign-in/sign-out procedures, and ensure access is limited to authorized areas.
Maintain a visible presence within or near project work zones to observe contractor activity and ensure compliance with museum policies and approved work parameters.
Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, policy violations, or property concerns while supporting emergency response procedures as needed.
Serve as a liaison between contractors and museum staff, coordinating with Security, Facilities, and Project Management to support daily operations.
Maintain accurate logs of contractor activity, access records, and incident reports in accordance with departmental procedures.
Represent the museum with professionalism while consistently enforcing safety protocols and access requirements.
