About The Position

Under the direction of the Security & Parking Manager, this role oversees Security & Parking Officers, including in-house and contracted security personnel, as well as EMT contract personnel. The position is responsible for directing the security and life safety functions within the Music City Center/Nashville Convention Center. It also assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to loss prevention, life safety, fire detection systems, and physical security for attendees, clients, guests, and team members.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree preferred, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience as a security supervisor or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in scheduling security staff, including selection, training, scheduling, monitoring work progress, and providing technical, administrative, and operational assistance.
  • Oversee security operations and ensure policy compliance, enforcing security and fire/safety regulations.
  • Patrol buildings and grounds, responding to and reporting unusual incidents to minimize hazardous situations.
  • Operate and maintain a two-way communications system for radio contact with security personnel.
  • Prepare shift schedules and approve leave and overtime to ensure continuous coverage.
  • Monitor and control all alarm systems.
  • Assign tasks and supervise the work activities of subordinates.
  • Monitor and operate multiple CCTV monitors and cameras for video surveillance and recording.
  • Assess security needs and control team member and visitor access to buildings and property.
  • Program and maintain data in the building access control computer to authorize team member access levels.
  • Attend meetings in the absence of the Director of Security & Parking as required.
  • Oversee vendors and maintenance needs for related equipment, coordinating and following up on repairs or preventative maintenance.
  • Assist, monitor, and supervise parking operations in the absence of parking staff or during busy times.
  • Ensure and monitor all reports for accuracy and timely completion.
  • Ensure Access Control systems are functioning properly and report deficiencies to managers.
  • Oversee and assist with temp and contract labor assigned to events, ensuring professionalism and job performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
