About The Position

This is a student employment opportunity for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst Intern within the ITS – Information Security department. The role is designated as Federal Work-Study. The intern will be responsible for monitoring security alerts, investigating potential security incidents, assisting in phishing detection and response, and learning to operate various security tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts – identify and report potential security incidents
• Investigate incidents – assist in investigating security events
• Phishing detection and response - assist in identifying and responding to phishing attempts
• Learn and operate security tools - assist in configuring and utilizing various SOC tools including SIEM, SOAR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, honeypots, etc.
