About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for an Amazon warehouse. The officer will help safeguard the site and its people, perform security patrols, monitor for safety and security concerns, control access, respond to incidents, and assist customers, employees, and visitors. This flex role uses a shift-pickup platform to view and claim available shifts. It requires open availability, and officers may be asked to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. Applicants who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or in security may not qualify. Pay is $19.24 per hour.

Requirements

• Must have a current California Guard Card with training certificates.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Must submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years if armed.
• Must have reliability and the ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Must demonstrate the ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills and be able to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Must have active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Must be a team player and attentive to detail.
• Must have open availability.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
