About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex Unarmed Patrol Relief to safeguard clients across varied industries and work locations in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The role provides hands-on experience in diverse environments and opportunities for career advancement. Work is 30–40 hours per week, with a schedule that varies based on manager-assigned shifts and shifts claimed through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations, and assignments change regularly, and employees may be assigned irregular shifts with little to no advance notice to meet client needs. Candidates must be able to accommodate last-minute changes, work varying shifts, and travel to assigned work locations.

The officer patrols designated areas on foot or by vehicle, observes and reports safety or security concerns, responds to emergencies, controls access, enforces site rules, and assists customers, employees, and visitors. The position pays $19.94 per hour. Employment is contingent on a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing may be required under state or local law; a valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Requirements

• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must be available for last-minute shift scheduling and willing to adjust availability with minimal notice.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel the required distances to assigned work locations.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be 21 or older.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state and/or local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators about rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal follows client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, and maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary according to site Post Orders.
