About The Position

The Security Officer at First National Bank Alaska is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the bank's employees, customers, assets, and facilities. This role involves maintaining a visible presence, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to incidents, and enforcing bank security policies and procedures. This is a private environment at the First National Bank headquarters building and surrounding areas with the corresponding levels of traffic (employees, visitors, customers, etc.).

Requirements

Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
At least two (2) years of security, law enforcement or military experience.
Must be able to obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to beginning work.
Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

Monitors visually, electronically, or audibly, a variety of assigned areas to include buildings, parking lots, and surrounding grounds.
Ensures own actions and those of others observe maximum levels of safety and compliance with client rules and policies.
Verbally de-escalate stressful situations to ensure the safety of client employees and customers.
Examines doors, windows, and other areas of the Client’s property to determine they are secure.
Reports and records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, etc. in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.
Notifies Client employees of visitors wishing to see them.
Assists in properly responding to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property, including but not limited to fire safety, active shooter protocol.
At least minimum basic computer skills required.
May check heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire, etc., systems to make sure they are operational.
May also be combined with other position duties.
Notify supervisor is safety and sanitation standards are not being met. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
