Security Officer - Full Time Screening

As a Security Officer Full Time Screening in Manassas, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help support a secure environment by monitoring access points, screening individuals and/or materials, maintaining a visible presence, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while helping to deter incidents. Requirements
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security-related policies at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen individuals, packages, and selected items entering or leaving the facility in accordance with established procedures; report irregularities or prohibited items to site leadership.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorization, and shipping-related documentation as required for entry or exit.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, loading zones, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
