About The Position

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a cultural institution setting.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations to site leadership and/or public emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout memorial grounds, chapels, mausoleums, parking areas, and perimeter access points to help identify unusual activity and/or policy concerns.
  • Monitor visitor activity, assist with directions and access questions, and help support respectful site operations during services, gatherings, and/or visiting hours.
  • Document incidents, patrol activity, and notable conditions in required logs and/or reports, and communicate security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
