About The Position

As a part-time Security Officer Alarm Response in Newport, Rhode Island, you will help safeguard a healthcare location by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible security presence, and providing customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors. You will respond to alarms, incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations according to established protocols, and help maintain a welcoming environment. The role is scheduled Friday through Sunday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, at a rate of $21.22 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, requests for assistance, and critical situations, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
Accurately document incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
