About The Position

Help Create a Secure Community where Residents Thrive: At Valley Plaza | Valley Woods, the Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents, employees, and visitors. Using a trauma-informed approach and effective de-escalation techniques, this position provides property surveillance, enforces safety protocols, and helps prevent disruptive or criminal behavior while supporting housing programs focused on stability, independence, and self-sufficiency.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year of security experience
  • Private Security Officer license in Utah |DOPL Verified
  • CPR certification
  • Valley de-escalation certification

Responsibilities

  • Patrols assigned location regularly to maintain order and a safe environment
  • Monitors and authorizes the entrance of vehicles or people to the property
  • Escorts trespassers from the area
  • Secures all exits, doors, and windows at the close of business
  • Reviews surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
  • Investigates suspicious activity or possessions
  • Responds to alarms, assesses the situation, and investigates as necessary
  • Provides supportive assistance and de-escalation to clients/people in need
  • Submits daily reports of surveillance activity and critical incidents
