About The Position

As a part-time, unarmed Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location in West Columbia, South Carolina, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and provide a welcoming, professional experience for employees and visitors. You will remain visible to help deter incidents, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns. The role involves working a scheduled daytime/evening shift Tuesday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Pay is $14.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• State or local licensing may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and delivery personnel by following site-specific access-control procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, and maintain visitor, contractor, and vehicle access records in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters to appropriate site contacts or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter.
• Accurately and promptly document observations, incidents, and security-related activities using required reports and communication systems.
