About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use the company’s shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, building a flexible schedule while gaining experience at different sites. The position may involve irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. The listed rate is $21.10 an hour.

The officer performs security patrols, monitors for security concerns and safety hazards, controls access, responds to incidents, and prepares required reports and logs. They also assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications in accordance with site Post Orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Be at least 18 years of age, or older if required by the state; 21 years if armed.
• No prior experience is required.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
