About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer for an Amazon warehouse. The role provides access to a shift-pickup platform where officers can view and claim open shifts based on availability and gain experience across different sites and industries. Officers must have open availability and may be called to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The posting lists pay at $20.28 per hour and requires a current California Guard Card with training certificates. Applicants who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or security may not qualify.

The officer will safeguard the client’s property and people by patrolling, monitoring conditions and access points, responding to alarms and emergencies, enforcing site rules, and documenting incidents. The position also involves courteous interaction with customers, employees, and visitors, and making emergency notifications in accordance with site Post Orders.

Requirements

• Must have a current California Guard Card with training certificates.
• Must have open availability; irregular shifts may be assigned with little or no advance notice.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and may be required before employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must undergo a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen.
• Must be at least 18 years old, or older if required by state law; 21 years old if armed.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• No prior experience required.
• Applicants who previously worked at Amazon as an associate or security may not qualify.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter the property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
