Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and patrons by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a library environment.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and reporting requirements.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public areas, staff spaces, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and potential concerns.
Monitor access points and assist with maintaining orderly entry and exit procedures for visitors, deliveries, and authorized personnel.
Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
