About The Position

Associa is seeking a Security Officer to join their team. The role is responsible for maintaining the overall security of a property by preventing theft, vandalism, and damage. Security officers may patrol properties, maintain records of entry and exit, monitor deliveries, and assist guests with information and directions. They also protect the property and its inhabitants from fire risks and other safety violations, respond to emergencies by communicating with emergency personnel, and may handle physical threats. Additionally, they may enforce parking regulations and ensure parking lot security. A key aspect of the role is to be constantly aware of risks and concerns.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required
0 - 3 years of directly related or closely related experience
Guard Card Required
Knowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.
Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level.
Professional customer service skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and a team player.
Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
Time management and time-critical prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
Make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
Greet incoming guests and tenants, providing information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors.
Guard and monitor premises to prevent theft, property destruction, violence, or rule and safety violations.
Perform fire prevention, safety, and maintenance tasks, and parking/traffic enforcement.
Other duties as assigned.
