About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Coverage in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The role provides consistent hours at an assigned site, with the option to pick up additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. The assigned weekly shift requires a six-month commitment. Employees may increase their hours, potentially up to 40 hours per week, and can scale back when needed. The position pays $18.00 per hour and is scheduled Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 12:45 AM.

The officer provides customer service and performs security-related duties in a shelter setting, including patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and documentation. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum age of 18 for unarmed work, and compliance with applicable background investigation, drug screening, and licensing requirements.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response procedures in a shelter setting.
• Respond calmly and respectfully to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and help maintain an orderly environment consistent with site policies.
• Accurately document incidents, patrol observations, and security-related concerns, and communicate relevant information to site leadership or responding personnel.
