About The Position

Fairmont Kea Lani is seeking a Security Officer to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of colleagues and guests and maintain a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination. The role provides security, emergency, and first aid assistance; supports implementation of security policies and programs; promotes safety and security procedures; documents and investigates reported incidents; supports Lost & Found operations; reviews business continuity planning; and conducts patrols and lock-related tasks.

The position is casual and permanent, with varying schedules that include weekends and holidays to meet hotel business demands. The hourly rate is $29.93. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not offered.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational training.
• State of Hawaii Guard Card.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driver’s abstract.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Authorization to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not offered.

Nice To Haves

• Security, law enforcement, and/or loss prevention experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide security, emergency, and first aid assistance.
• Implement Security Services policies and programs as directed by the Security Manager.
• Guide and support leaders and colleagues regarding safety and security procedures.
• Educate new Fairmont colleagues on safety and security.
• Assist with training new security officers.
• Create and maintain documentation for incidents reported by guests or colleagues.
• Follow Lost & Found procedures, including documenting accepted items, responding to inquiries, maintaining logs, and following retention guidelines.
• Investigate and follow up on reports made by guests or colleagues.
• Review the business continuity plan with the Security Manager, communicate updates to colleagues, and ensure necessary training is provided.
• Conduct lock interrogations and assist the Engineering Department with lock repairs.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols.
