Security Officer Part Time Driver Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for a driving patrol position at a retail location in Skokie, Illinois. The officer will help safeguard clients and visitors, maintain a visible security presence, conduct patrols, respond to security concerns, and provide customer service to shoppers, tenants, visitors, and client representatives. The driving post requires a valid driver’s license. The schedule is Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The pay rate is $19.75 per hour. Applicants are subject to background investigation and, where permitted by law, drug screening. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, required under Allied Universal driver policy for driving positions.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants must undergo a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants must undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements prior to employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail property, including common areas, parking facilities, exterior perimeters, and tenant spaces as directed.
- Assist with access control, monitor entrances and exits, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
- Communicate professionally with Allied Universal leadership, local law enforcement, emergency responders, and site management as needed.
